We are starting the second meeting of our book club, along with a recommendations for this month. I hope you’ll settle in nicely with a cup of tea, a glass of wine, hot chocolate, or a bowl of popcorn and enjoy your reading!

1. “A Man Called Ove” (rating 10/10): Frederick Backman: This is one of my favorite books. A beautiful, humorous, and emotional story about a grumpy and misunderstood old man who finds new meaning in life through unexpected friendships. It will definitely make you laugh and perhaps evoke a few sparks (read a lot) of sadness and empathy in your heart.

2. “Norwegian Wood” (rating 9/10) Haruki Murakami: The book is a masterpiece! It explores love, loss, and trauma. Murakami creates a mysterious atmosphere, immersing us in a 3D world of unique characters and unusual events. Something you haven’t read before.

3. “Lo que jode encontrarte un calcetín desparejado” (rating 7/10) Nando Abad: Translation in English would be something like: “The annoyance of finding a mismatched sock.” However, I am afraid there is only a Spanish edition for now! 😦 Let me know if you find the English version!

Anyway, I read it on Serbian.  Such an entertaining book that I couldn’t put it down! The first 50-80 pages describe everyday life challenges, and I must admit it was quite boring. However, you won’t expect the escalation of events!! From a torn sock to murder? No, it’s not a crime novel. I hope it piques your imagination because the book is bizarre, fun, hilarious, and the events border on absurdity!

4. “The Four Agreements” (rating 10/10) Don Miguel Ruiz: Seemingly a book that doesn’t promise much. However! It holds a lot of wisdom for self-reflection and personal development. Through the prism of ancient Toltec philosophy, it will truly stimulate your thoughts on life, freedom, authenticity, and the purpose and destination of our lives after this one.

Knjizevni klub #2

Prelepa, duhovita i emotivna prica o jednom dzangrizavom i neshvacenom starcu koji pronalazi novi smisao zivota kroz neocekivana prijateljstva. Definitivno ce vas nasmejati a i mozda ce i po koja isckrica (citaj mnogo) tuge i saosecanja  zaigrati u vasem srcu.

2. “Norveška šuma” (ocena 9/10) Haruki Murakami:  Knjiga je remek-delo! Istrazuje ljubav, gubitak i traume. Murakami stvara misterioznu atmosferu, uvodeci nas u neki 3D svet jedinstvenih likova i neobicnih dogadjaja. Nesto sto niste do sada citali.

Medjutim, necete ocekivati takvu eskalaciju dogadjaja!!

I loved reading A man called Ove and Norwegian wood. Both evoke such different sets of emotions 🤩

I read “My Family and Other Animals”! Loved the descriptions of the island’s flora and fauna, along with the comedic portrayal of his family’s quirks!

It really is quirky! I am learning so much about so much of flora and fauna collectively.

I have started Beautiful World, Where Are You, by Sally Rooney! It dives into the ups and downs of modern relationships and takes a close look at how people navigate the complexities of today’s society. Very interesting book.
